Since 2018, the Jonge Seun has been a popular ferry in Harlingen harbor from April to October. The Harlinger Heen en Weer Foundation operates the Jonge Seun. The income covers the annual costs of insurance, office space, winter storage, maintenance, and the purchase of new parts.
All employees are volunteers with a wide range of expertise. Their team includes IT specialists, (water) police officers, sailors, divers, mechanical engineers, financial experts, nurses, designers, and shipbuilders. They volunteer their experience to keep the ferry sailing. Most of the photos on the website are taken by Arja Kastelein, who is also skipper for our foundation.
