The Jonge Seun and her crew are ready again. From April 12, we will sail again through the Willemshaven, from the Badhus to the SAS pier and the Zuiderpier or vice versa, wherever you are: when the flags are raised, call +(31) 6 39 67 0686 for a little trip.
Skippers and co-skippers wanted
De Jonge Seun is looking for skippers and co-skippers to operate the ferry as often as possible. The solar ferry operates seven days a week from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM in two shifts of two people, which means we need around 28 volunteers per week. We currently have around 45 skippers and co-skippers, but in practice, this often proves insufficient to staff all shifts.
Would you like to join our expert team of skippers? Would you also like to contribute your expertise to the ferry? The foundation would love to hear from you, as there is always room for enthusiastic volunteers.
Trainees receive practical training twice a week, if possible, and if you do this consistently, you can become a skipper in less than half a season. There is a theoretical and practical component. The theory can be found in our Pontschipper Handbook. The theory is linked to the practical exercises. There is also a theory evening.
As a co-skipper, you can come on board immediately: you will then receive simple instructions about mooring, telling the story of the ports and what they offer (there is also a very informative booklet about this) and settling the bill with the guests.
