GET ON, GET OFF
Sail with us, powered by the sun, on the Jonge Seun ferry. Twelve solar panels are mounted on the ferry’s roof, powering the two electric propellers underneath the ferry, allowing us to navigate the harbor.
You can’t get any closer to the tidal waters of the Wadden Sea. This is where the ferries set sail for the Wadden Islands. Here, skippers hoist the sails on their pleasure boats.
Experience the industrial heritage of the quay from the water. Watch for the Harlingen shrimp and Zeeland mussel fishermen. Experience the classic clippers, barges, and tjalks converted into passenger ships up close.
Harlingen boasts a bustling seaport, and aboard the ferry, you’ll be right in the heart of it.
When the flag flies, we sail, from April until the autumn holidays at the end of October. The 2026 season starts 12th of April.
There are three boarding locations in the harbor: at the Badhuis, the Sassteiger, and the Zuiderpier. See SAILING INFO for locations, the sailing route, and other information. You can embark at any time for €3 per person, seven days a week, between 12:00 and 17:00.
Can’t see us and the flag is flying at the jetty? Call the skipper at +(31) 6 39 67 06 86 and we’ll pick you up. A complete loop takes about 20 minutes.
At the Sas jetty, you can also board in a wheelchair. We can always assist you with going up and down.
